Dental Procedures Benefit From Laser Dentistry

No matter how careful you are, sometimes injuries still happen and you end up needing dental emergency care. Saving your teeth after severe trauma is not possible in the absence of dental emergency services. Once permanent teeth are lost, no dental restorations would suffice to compensate for their look and function.

Trauma that involves your teeth causes severe pain, and it’s not easily relieved after you take some medication. You need to go to the nearest dental emergency clinic to receive necessary treatment from your dentist. He is capable of saving your injured tooth, helping you manage the pain and preventing tooth loss.

On one hand, not all dental pain requires the immediate attention of a dentist. Some dental injuries, usually sports-related or caused by accidents, require immediate dental emergency care

1. Fractured tooth

Tooth fracture can be classified into three types. The first type is affecting the enamel which does not require emergency care. However, the patient needs to see his dentist as soon as possible to avoid further damage. The second and third type affects the dentin and tooth pulp. In these cases, the patient needs to be taken to a dental emergency clinic. The dentist needs to see the depth of the fracture through a digital X-ray for treatment planning.

2. Dislocated tooth

This type of dental injury does not completely knock off the tooth from its socket. If the patient does not receive immediate treatment, it might lead to inflammation or infection. To avoid complications, the patient needs to see his dentist immediately so the tooth can be saved from extraction.

3. Lateral luxation

If the face or mouth receives a sudden blow or impact, the patient’s tooth might be pushed forward or backward. This dental injury, also called lateral luxation, involves a fracture in the alveolar bone.
